Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, traffic demand for mobile communications continues to increase, which causes the necessity of developing new spectral resources and improving frequency utilization. For efficient use of the frequency resources, RF devices which can flexibly cover frequency bands are needed. Thus three-bit reconfigurable bandpass filter (BPF) which can cover eight center frequencies has been developed. The reconfigurable BPF covers from 2 to 3 GHz, however, the BPF has to be able to be applied to the next generation (5G) technologies, such as career aggregation (CA) and communications using higher frequency bands including low SHF bands. Thus proposed reconfigurable BPF has been designed to cover from 3.5 to 5 GHz in order to meet 5G standard. In higher frequency bands, there is a possibility that lumped-element components don’t work ideal due to self-resonant frequency (SRF) and their physical dimensions. This paper presents the design and measurement results of the prototype BPF using chip inductors as the initial study. The center frequency range of prototype BPF is from 3.1 to 4.6 GHz, which are slightly lower than that of the simulation results.
