Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) have attracted much attention for quickly constructing the communication network in disaster areas, and, also their use in monitoring the environment in farms and infrastructure inspection is expected. Especially, UA networks that are composed of several UAs (Unmanned Aircrafts) have attracted much attention because they can relay data in wide range and high speed by transmitting in a multi-hop fashion. However, network performances and network structures of UA networks vary significantly with the supposed applications. For instance, constructing a relay network in a disaster area requires more communication speed and more coverage than monitoring the environment in a farm. In this paper, to clarify the network demands, we classify the UA networks by the acceptable delay of the target application. Thereafter, we focus on the fixed UA network, one of the possible network structures of UA networks. And then, we point out the importance of the UA deployment scheme to improve the successful communication ratio. Finally, we introduce the conducted field experiment using two UAs. To evaluate the performance of fixed UA networks, we measure the successful communication ration of A2A (Air-to-Air) and G2A (Ground-to-Air) links.
