Abstract(in English) | We have proposed to evaluate the impact of interference on the performance of BSS (Broadcasting Satellite Services) in terms of the increase rate of the outage time caused by the rain attenuation. In this paper, we study the following points on the relation between interference and the increase of outage time caused by rain attenuation in the BSS link. (1) The relation among the link margin, the interference and the outage time, the increase rate of outage time for the different modulation schemes (different required C/N (Carrier to Noise ratio)) and the different EIRP (Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power) of satellite. (2) The dependence on the different locations (different rainfall rate in a year). As a consequence, we show that if the criterion for the allowable interference is given by a certain value of the increase rate of the outage time, the allowable interference could be expressed by a certain value of C/If (Carrier to Interference caused by foreign satellite ratio). |
