Evaluation of qualities of visual information and communication in the optical camera communication system using digital signage

Abstract(in English) In this study, we discuss optical camera communication systems using digital signage, which is composed of a liquid crystal display (LCD). The optical camera communication system using digital signage has to transmit data information not to obstruct the visual information. In previous work, we proposed the blue color difference modulation and shew the feasibility of the optical camera communication system using digital signage without the visual information obstruction. In this paper, we quantify the quality of visual information in which data information is embedded by using subjective assessment of the quality. Then we evaluate the optical camera communication system using digital signage in terms of bit error rate and quality of visual information. As a result, it is shown that using color difference component to embed data information in visual information is effective to transmit data information not to obstruct the visual information.
