Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In interference suppression based on beamforming with array antenna, the possible number of interference waves to be suppressed is determined by the number of antennas in the array antenna. Since one radio frequency(RF) chain has to be attached to one antenna, the implementation costs become expensive when the number of the antennas is large. Antenna selection based beamforming can reduce the cost but the ability to suppress the interference is limited. A previous research has shown that the non-uniform linear array, i.e., Minimum variance linear array (MVLA), can improve the interference suppression capability compared to uniform linear array(ULA) in the case of 2-element antenna selection. In this paper, we reveal the reason why the MVLA achieves better performance than ULA. Based on this investigation, we show a proper aperture length.
