Biometric Authentication using Hand Movement Information from Wrist-worn PPG sensors

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a biometric authentication scheme that leverages the signal measured by the PPG (Photoplethysmograph) sensor module. Our scheme lets a user bend his/her wrist several times and measures the signal variation with a PPG sensor. Several features are extracted from measurement data and are used for authentication. We conducted an experiment with 15 subjects and revealed that the continuous wrist movement of nine times achieved an equal error rate of 8.8 %.
