Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When there is haze in the scene, the visibility of objects in an acquired image is not good. In recent years, to improve the visibility of objects in such images, many haze removal methods have been investigated. It can be said that the haze removal is a kind of chroma enhancement. In addition, the lightness of an output image should be basically kept for the natural impression. In this report, we propose a quantitative index to evaluate dehazed images using the lightness and chroma in the input and output images. The validity of the proposed index is verified using the haze removal method of which the processing degree is adjustable.
