Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The goal of this research is to construct a smart environment which preserves privacy information. The smart environment can be aware of the state or situation of a person and the environment, and it can provide proper services. We need to collect various information to construct the smart environment. A video camera can be used for gathering the data. For the application, we have supposed senior care such as avoiding lonely death of elderly people. Privacy is the main issue if we use video camera. To solve this issue, we have proposed constructing smart environment using only simple sensors. In this report, a sensor array which consists of multiple simple sensors is used for estimating locations of the resident. The simple sensor is used only an infrared sensor. The results of this report can assist to build smart environment while protecting the privacy.
