A Study on Normalization of A-priori Information for Belief Propagation in Correlated Large MIMO Channels

Abstract(in English) From a viewpoint of stochastic signal detection theory, the most attractive feature of massive Multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) con guration where a base station (BS) has about hundred of antennas is the change in a stochastic property of MIMO channels as the number of antennas increase. Gaussian Belief Propagation (GaBP) utilizes the stochastic behavior to achieve the second order of the number of antennas and near-optimal performance (MLD limit) in uncorrelated MIMO channels when the number of receive antennas is over one hundred. In other words, the GaBP detection capability is seriously degraded in correlated MIMO channels when the number of receive antennas decrease. In this paper, we demonstrate the validity of the normalized method with the aid of node selection in correlated MU-MIMO channel when the BS has tens of receive antennas.
