Abstract(in English) To support the mobility of visually impaired people, airports and stations have a voice guidance that guides people to a rest room or an escalator. It plays a role to transmit a position at the time of hearing from a distance, and plays a role to transmit content from the vicinity. Although they are very useful, they are not sufficiently widespread because of ambient noise at potential installation sites. This study examines the performance of speech intelligibility enhancement technique regarding the transmission of a distance through field experiment for visually impaired people. As a result, we confirmed that people can recognize sound and can understand the contents of guidance easily by using speech intelligibility enhancement technique. Further, people can walk quickly with confidence.
