Abstract(in English) | Optical transport network comprises nation-wide distributed transport systems deployed in thousands of office-buildings. As a common infrastructure to accommodate diversified communication services with drastic traffic growth, it is required not only to convey growing traffic continuously, but also to achieve end-to-end high communication quality and availability, and to provide enhanced controllability in cooperation with service layer systems. While achieving above conditions, it is required to minimize total life-cycle cost, comprising equipment, operation and maintenance, power consumption and so on. This paper will overview operational problems emerged in current nation-wide optical transport network, and based on system hardware and software trends analysis, it will also propose vision of the future expressed by 5 concept keywords. |
