Fast and Accurate Image Segmentation Technique using Multiple Sensors

Abstract(in English) Transporting super high reality of entire live sport game to remote venue, we aim to extract precise target image such as an athlete from video. While chroma key compositing is widely used for accurate image extraction, fixed color screen for keying would not able to be set on the gaming field. In this paper, we propose an effective real time image extraction method using camera and sensor. In our method, first a TRIMAP is created from roughly extracted image region using appropriate sensors, and then, precise boundary of target image is obtained by our fast edge correction algorithm. Our algorithm improves extraction accuracy even the sensor's resolution was 1/16 to 1/64 size of color camera, and its processing performance is over 30fps for FullHD video.
