Abstract(in English) | The wireless smart utility network (Wi-SUN) systems based on IEEE 802.15.4g have been adopted to smart metering systems such as electricity and gas infrastructure field. However, examinations for water smart metering systems are not enough, and there are no reports about transmission characteristics of wireless devices in water metering environments. This paper reports field experiment results of IEEE 802.15.4g based systems that assume water smart metering systems in a residential area, and the experimental evaluations of transmission characteristics with a meter device, a collection station, and a mobile station are shown. Moreover, this field experiment includes the measurement of coverage area expansion effects with IEEE 802.15.4g compliant forward error correction (FEC) . |
