Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a technique for destroying a tissue marker composed of giant cluster-like vesicles (GCVs). GCVs enclosing various biological tracers can be applied in laparoscopic gastric surgeries, where biological tracers are expected to be released at the collapse of GCVs and enable to map a sentinel lymph-node. An ultrasonically activated device (USAD), which is often used in laparoscopic surgeries, is a potential device for destructing GCVs. GCVs were exposed to the 55 kHz ultrasound emitted from an USAD, and the destruction of GCVs were evaluated after ultrasound irradiation. As a result, it was found that GCVs could be destructed when the blade tip of USAD was located at 1.0 mm distance or closer from GCV-containing cell, but not directly in contact with it. This means that USAD could be safely used for destroying this GCV tissue marker in clinical settings. |
