Assisting resolution of natural traffic congestions on sag sections consisting of multi-lane using VANET

Abstract(in English) In expressways, natural traffic congestions are frequently caused by the problem of road structures. Especially, many natural traffic congestions are known to happen at sag sections. For this problem, we proposed vehicle-to-vehicle communications using 5.8GHz and 700MHz which transmit information for the vehicle which is the head of congestion car group to recover velocity and also transmit for following vehicle which cannot confirm congestions to restrain velocity and we confirm effectiveness for alleviation of congestions on single lane. In this paper, we define multi-lane composed of 2lanes as a more realistic model and we propose controlling lane change behavior leading to congestions. From the simulation result, proposed method takes good effect for alleviation of congestions compared to the existing method if on-vehicle communication device is low percentages.
