Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A number of automatic safety systems such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) for vehicles functions based on the measurement by certain instrumentation devices. Therefore the integrity of the output of instrumentation devices is extremely important for such critical applications. This paper demonstrates a potential attack against a LIDAR adopting the pulse ranging technology. The attack equipment firstly receives pulsed light from a victim LIDAR. Then, it irradiates fake pulsed light created based on the received signal. The victim LIDAR can output wrong values depending on the fake pulsed lights. This fact implicates the importance of “Instrumentation Security.”
