Fundamental Examinations of the Use of Software Rejuvenation in Time Warp Simulations

Abstract(in English) Software rejuvenation techniques have been used mainly in server software, which runs in a long time, in order to proactively avoid triggering hard-to-fix bugs. Recently, software rejunevation have been introduced into High Performance Computing (HPC) areas, in which computing is also very lengthy. We previously proposed a simple protocol for rejuvenating processes in Time Warp simulations and develop a reliability analytical model. Moreover, we developped an experimental implementation of Time Warp simulator using MPI. In this article we present some parameters measured during real simulation runs.
