Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a bipolar transistor is operated in a common--collector mode, it was shown that the real part of its input impedance looking at the base terminal is negative without feedback networks. Thus, a negative resistance oscillator delivering microwave power from the emitter can be realized only by connecting a resonator to the base.By experiments using a prototyped oscillator, high collector efficiency of 42% was obtained. In addition, the microwave power at a frequency of 2.19GHz was converted to the DC power at the maximum efficiency of 49% by the oscillator.
