Application of the diplexer design of LTCC element library using the equivalent circuit model

Abstract(in English) LTCC devices are used in smart phones, because it can contain inductors and capacitors inside the LTCC body to reduce the size and thickness. Since there are ground layers to shield the pattern structure, a large effect of the parasitic components is unavoidable. Therefore, the desired characteristics cannot be obtained by the design using simple L-C equivalent circuit. Thus, we developed a design system performed on circuit simulator, in which structure pattern in the equivalent circuit includes the parasitic components. The parasitic component values are calculated in accordance with the main component value. In this paper, the developed design system is applied for the diplexer design to confirm the effectiveness of the system. An LTCC diplexer with size of 2.4 x 3.4 x 0.6 (mm) was successfully designed and fabricated.
