Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The ultra-wideband (UWB) radio sensor systems which can accurately detect a distance and behavior of a moving object are recently attracted considerable attention for various applications such as elderly care monitoring and intruder detection. The UWB radio sensor can generally estimate the distance information and the motion information by using a monostatic-placed antenna. With the sensor, it is impossible to identify an accurate position (e.g. indoor and outdoor) of an object, because the sensor measures only the distance between the antenna and the object. In this paper, we propose a moving object positioning method based on UWB sensor using multi-static placed antennas. The method can estimate not only a distance and a motion of the moving object but also a position of the moving object. We also investigate the fundamental positioning characteristics by computer simulations and discuss the effectiveness of our proposal.
