A Study on Back-off Time with Fair Two-way Throughput in Wireless LANs

Abstract(in English) In the IEEE 802.11 standards used for wireless LANs, an access point(AP) and stations(STAs) have an opportunity to transmit the data frame in a basic service se(BSS) by carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance(CSMA/CA).When there are a large number of STAs with high traffic in the BSS, the throughput from AP to a STA will deteriorate since its transmit opportunities are sThis phenomenon causes the extreme degradation in communication quality for applications generating bidirectional traffic.everely limited. In this manuscript,we show the feasibility of access control to achieve the fairness in bidirectional throughput. We propose optimization in the backoff time at AP to achieve the fairness in bidirectional throughput and we show the characteristics of bidirectional throughput using a network simulator, ns3.
