Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to tackle rapidly increasing traffic, 5th generation (5G) radio access network in mobile communications introduces Massive MIMO technology using higher frequency bands for realizing super high bit rate and large system capacity. In low SHF bands, because bandwidth is a relatively narrower in comparison to using high SHF bands, fully digital Massive MIMO which can control beams with higher accuracy will be introduced early. As the digital beamforming algorithm for fully digital Massive MIMO in low SHF bands, digital FBCP which combines digital beamforming (BF) with digital precoding has been proposed. This paper evaluates coverage of Massive MIMO using digital FBCP in low SHF bands by computer simulations using 5.2 GHz band, 100 MHz bandwidth and 128-element uniform planar array. Thus, this report shows the impact of the tilt angle and antenna height of base station on throughput performance when adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) and rank adaptation (RA) based is adopted on the average signal to noise power ratio (SNR) that calculated by radio link budget considering total transmission power of 30 dBm.
