On-chip Implementation of Random-Access-Memory and RSFQ Microprocessor with High-Functionality

Abstract(in English) The single flux quantum (SFQ) microprocessor demonstrated so far was not able to run meaningful programs due to the limit in functionality and memory capacity. Recently, we have been able to design more complex, highly-integrated circuits because of the progress in process and circuit design technology. We are aiming to demonstrate benchmarking program, and have started development of SFQ microprocessors with high-functionality embedded with random access memories called “CORE e series”. We measured CORE e4 fabricated using the AIST 10 kA/cm2 Nb process (ADP2), and obtained correct operation of 18 instructions out of 20 instructions. In this paper, we report the design and implementation of components of the CORE e microprocessors, and the measurement result of the CORE e4.
