| Abstract(in English) | Installed and yet unused optical fibers, so called dark fibers, are provided to other operators than those who have installed them. In this article, first we describe the progress of dark fiber utilization in Japan, its economic efficiency, and its characteristics. Next, we introduce a form of application of DWDM technology into access and metro dark fibers. |
