[Encouragement Talk] Performance Evaluation of UDP and TCP with Subflow Control Policies using Multipath TCP under Different RTTs

Abstract(in English) Multi-home environment and MPTCP can improve not only the TCP throughput but also can maintainthe quality of interative applications using UDP. To satisfy both the requirements of UDP and TCP in multi-homeenvironment, we have proposed subow control policies. However, the performance has not been investigated in casewith different RTTs of multiple paths. In particular, if the RTT of paths not used by the UDP ow is increased, the throughput distribution of multiple paths in MPTCP will change, which may impact on the UDP and TCPperformance. In this paper, we investigate the UDP and TCP performance in case with different RTTs of multiplepaths. As a result, the impact of UDP performance is not so big in case with larger difference of RTTs. We alsofound the TCP goodput reduction when the number of single-path TCP is small in case with larger difference ofRTTs.
