Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A cooling system can be realized by using the thermoacoustic phenomena deriving with the unused energy such as a waste heat. Few practical examples exist because of its low cooling efficiency. To improve the low efficiency, a phase adjuster (PA) has been introduced as a technique to enhance the energy conversion efficiency. However, the mechanism of the PA is still unclear. To discuss the mechanism of the PA, the physical model of PA is proposed in this paper. The sound field generated in the acoustic tube at various modes dependent on the setting position of the PA is theoretically estimated. By the changing of the PA position, the sound filed at each mode generated by the loudspeaker are observed, then the results are compared with the estimated ones. Finally, as an actual model, the looped-tube thermoacoustic system is applied as in the sound driver instead of the loudspeaker. Compare the observation results between sound field and the position of the PA. The capability of control for the selection of the resonance mode due to the setting position of the PA is demonstrated for the thermoacoustic system.
