Calculation accuracy of oblique incidence phase characteristics by multi-layer model for composite absorber

Abstract(in English) For achieving anechoic chamber simulations, the precise information on oblique-incidence reflection properties of the absorbers is indispensable. Electromagnetic field computations, such as FDTD, are utilized for obtaining the properties recently, because of difficulties of measuring the oblique-incidence characteristics, especially in VHF band. However, to progress the chamber design effectively, the faster calculation method is required. In this paper, we consider the use of multi-layer modeling to obtain the oblique incidence phase characteristics of an absorber which is composed of ferrite tiles and dielectric loss material, and compare to FDTD results. This modeling can calculate absorption properties in a short time.
