Abstract(in English) | With the progress of M2M (Machine-to-Machine) / IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, it is not easy to satisfy diversified service requirements of a variety of applications by applying a single radio access technology (RAT) such as LTE. The fifth generation mobile communication system (5G) considers multi-RAT architecture, which introduces New-RAT with flexible parameters and also improves coordination with existing RATs such as wireless LANs. On the other hand, a wide variety of new RATs specified for various requirements or purposes might appear in the future (e.g. IEEE 802.15.4 or IEEE 802.15.4g that have already been specified for low-power sensor or metering usages). Thus, the authors believe that more flexible heterogeneous network will be required that can select and configure the most suitable RAT from available RAT candidates based on service requirements of each application. In this report, we propose new wireless network architecture that for the heterogeneous network. By applying different RATs for bootstrapping and data-transmission for each, the proposed architecture enables to develop flexible wireless systems that provides both of universal availability and satisfaction of diversified service requirements of each application. |
