Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Traffic of IoT sometimes increases rapidly. This traffic burst is caused by time-triggered communication. If IoT service providers prepare server resources adjusted to the peak of the traffic burst, they have to prepare large amount of server resources. In this study, we analyze the characteristics of the traffic burst. Then, we focus on some cases in which IoT devices are tolerant of some packet losses and delay in their communication. Furthermore, we have proposed a method to lower the peak of the traffic burst by a traffic shaper which only treat SYN packet with a large buffer. The network buffer only stores SYN packets to smooth the burst. In this paper, we evaluate the proposed SYN packet shaping method in Consideration of the traffic burst deviation.
