Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important to understand how efficiently information from the natural world is processed in the brain. It is suggested that space and color coding properties of the mammalian early visual system can be reproduced using the self-organization model, such as the Independent Component Analysis (ICA). In this study, we applied the ICA to color natural images calibrated to adapt to human and honeybee’s photoreceptor sensitivities. Our results suggest that the color information processing in the early visual system of the honeybee is based on several kinds of color receptive fields.
