Development of a real-time system for visualizing tsunami inundation using probe cars

Abstract(in English) We proposed a measurement system using the ITS technology for visualizing tsunami damage. In this system, when the probe car(PC) with sensors and a communication device encounters tsunami waves, it will send the current location and inundation time to the server. Then, it estimates the inundation range in real time based on the inundation information by a plurality of PCs. In this research, we examined the vehicle behavior when the vehicle stopped in order to develop an algorithm to determine whether it has encountered tsunami waves.
