Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To determine a possibility of relationship between brain activity and eye movements in viewing images of facial expressions, the relationships between electroencephalograms (EEGs) and eye movements frequency based on electro-oculograms (EOGs) were analyzed. The visual stimuli were prepared using a photo data base of typical facial expressions. Regarding the viewer's subjective evaluation, all images were classified into two clusters such as ``Pleasant'' or ``Unpleasant'' clusters. Both frequency spectra of EEGs and cross spectra of eye movements were extracted in sequential time zones, the correlation coefficients were compared among the two clusters and electrodes. As a result, the correlation coefficients between EEGs at a central area and eye movements increased along the time when ``Unpleasant'' images were presented. This suggests that some activities for ``Unpleasant'' images at a central area may influence eye movements.
