Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In modern vehicles, various sensors and actuators are connected each other over in-vehicle network. If these on-board electronic devices can be connected directly to passengers' IoT devices brought in cabin, novel communication style among passengers might be established. In order to confirm the hypothesis, we built a user experience prototype based on our IoT framework that can flexibly connect on-board sensors and the other devices through WebSocket, one of Web standard protocols. Two devices, a projection based data visualizer and an audio synthesizer, were connected to the IoT network as passengers' brought in devices, then generated visual and auditory effects using the sensor inputs as their parameters. All passengers can share the experience through the projection and the sound. We conducted the experiments on public roads to observe the system and subjects' response in actual traffic scenes. As a result, the generated effects well corresponded to the traffic events, and then the novel style of communication among passengers could also be observed.
