GPGPU-accelerated simulation of a sensory stimulus and neural activity

Abstract(in English) It is important to know details of a sensory stimulus for understanding a nervous system. However, it is difficult to measure a stimulus received by an organism in the real world. Here we used computer simulation to investigate details of a stimulus. However, to calculate a stimulus generated from complex situation, we waste much calculation time. The purpose of this study is to accelerate computer simulation of a sensory stimulus and neural activity. To address this issue, we applied GPGPU (General Purpose computing on Graphical Processing Unit). We achieved acceleration of computation of a stimulus and neural activity by GPGPU.
