Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A wide range and a high degree-of-freedom of the shoulder motion is accomplished by a complex joint structure consisting of tree different bones and the coordinated activities of relating muscles. Such muscle activities have been analyzed by means of computer simulation, due to the difficulty of electromyograhic measurement. We also have been studied activities of scapulohumeral muscles during the elevation of the upper arm, using a musculoskeletal model of the shoulder consists of bone models, a movement model and muscle models. However, the model has yet to include axioscapular muscles. Then, we added axioscapular muscles to the previous model, in order to estimate their activities during the abduction in the scapular plane. Simulation demonstrated that serratus anterior muscle was activated significantly, while other muscle was activated slightly, differing from physiological knowledge, and a part of the axioscapular muscle model was intruded into the scapula model unnaturally. Insufficiency of muscle activity estimation was considered to result from the lack of equilibrium equations of translational forces in the constraint conditions.
