Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of readability on shape of tactile characters. The contents of the experiment was to touch the tactile character of katakana alone and string in the form of five types (size 20mm, 14mm, 10mm, vertical width of 50%, and horizontal width of 50% (size 20mm)). The subjects were nine healthy people wearing an eye mask. The results of the percentage of correct answers and the confidence rating of size 10mm and horizontal width of 50%, character alone it was difficult to read, but strings was not.
