[Poster Presentation] A Disaster Prevention Broadcasting System Based on Audio Data Hiding

Abstract(in English) The authors have proposed a disaster prevention broadcasting system based on audio data hiding scheme using complete complementary codes. In this system, disaster information is embedded into siren sounds or audio announcements. Information transmission can be realized by only broadcasting such stego audio signal from a loud speaker without employing any wifi connections. In the previous studies, bit errors inevitably occur because of attenuation of the received signals and reverberation effects under the indoor scenario. In this study, we propose a data packet format which does not need to send a long bit sequence to transmit the disaster information. In addition we apply a two-stage error correcting code where a convolutional code and a Reed-Solomon code are employed in this order. Experimental results show that the bit-error-rate performance has been largely improved by the proposed methods.
