Indoor Localization System based on Multiple AP and its Experimental Investigation

Abstract(in English) In recent years, location estimation techniques have been attracting much attention, because of rapidly growing location based services. Although many localization systems utilizing Wi-Fi have been proposed, the localization accuracy of the conventional approach is not good, because only Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is available from off-the-shelf Wi-Fi modules. This paper utilize a high-performance indoor localization algorithm, called fingerprint, which is localization algorithm suitable for indoor environment in terms of estimation accuracy. Moreover, we constructed an indoor localization system to utilize received signal phase difference in addition to RSSI. Experiment results in indoor environment validates the effectiveness of our proposed system in terms of localization accuracy, and the mean value of the estimation error was about 0.93m.
