Hidden/exposed terminal estimation method using Beacon for Wireless LANs

Abstract(in English) The use of unlicensed band systems such as wireless LANs has been increasing with rapid growth of smart phones and tablet terminals. Since the wireless LAN adopts the CSMA/CA based channel access mechanism, the hidden/exposed terminal problem, which degrades the performance of the system, occurs when there exist many wireless devices. In this paper, we propose a method to estimate the hidden/exposed terminals. The proposed scheme estimates the exposed AP transmitting signals and exposed terminal receiving signals by using the beacon frames transmitted periodically. In this paper, we validate the proposed scheme through computer simulations.
