Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wire driven and string driven system are typical technique in haptic presentation. In previous studies, the tension of string was completely lost when the power was turned off. This problem had led to other problems such as entangled strings, the difficulty to carry. In previous system, the tension control was implemented only on motors which could not differentiate between minimum tension and force of presenting haptic. We propose a new system that presents force by motors and spiral springs and, therefore, can continually provide minimum tension when the power is turned off. We also examined the influence of the proposed system on tension control.
