[Invited Talk] Real-time Playback of Compressed 8K Super Hi-Vision from Holographic Memory System

Abstract(in English) Holographic memory is expected to be put to practical use as the next generation optical memory which has high data-transfer-rate and high density. We have been studying on the holographic memory aiming for video archival media in broadcasting stations. We have proposed the technologies to increase the data-transfer-rate and density, and also evaluated the feasibility of the holographic memory system by actual recording and readout of video data. We recently demonstrated real-time playback of 8K Super Hi-Vision video data compressed by HEVC/H.265. In this report, we describe the optical system of our holographic memory and the signal processing system required for the real-time playback.
