Field Experiment of IEEE 802.15.4g Based System with Forward Error Correction

Abstract(in English) This report measures and analyzes transmission characteristics of IEEE 802.15.4g based systems in the use of device-to-device communication by field experiments. The coverage area of wireless smart utility network (Wi-SUN) systems can be expanded by multi-hopping. To construct complex multi-hop networks it is required to evaluate one-hop communication performance, however, there is few report about transmission characteristics of device-to-device communication. Moreover, the experimental evaluations of IEEE 802.15.4g compliant forward error correction (FEC) have not been reported sufficiently. This report measures the effect of FEC by field experiments of IEEE 802.15.4g based systems, and shows that device-to-device transmission characteristics in line-of-sight (LoS) environment follows the two-wave path-loss model and Nakagami-Rician fading model.
