Abstract(in English) A RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) based 60 GHz band WLAN coverage detection scheme assuming free space loss of LOS (Line Of Sight) component in 2.4/5 GHz band was proposed aiming at longer battery lifetime of the multi-band WLAN mobile terminals and efficient spectrum utilization. However, prediction error can be large in small rooms since relatively strong reflected waves of 2.4/5 GHz signals can exist in such environments and path loss can be different from free space loss. To solve this problem of the conventional RSSI based 60 GHz band WLAN coverage detection scheme, the authors have been proposing learning-based 60 GHz band WLAN coverage detection method to improve 60 GHz band coverage detection accuracy by using the measured results of both 2.4/5 GHz and 60 GHz RSSI. This report describes operation flow of the proposed method as well as design and performance of the proposed method.
