Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Portable information devices with a wireless LAN interface, such as smartphones and tablet computers, have been spreading rapidly. Therefore, high density of stations instigate severe degradation of area throughput in wireless LANs. One factor is that an initial value of minimum contention windows size (CWmin) in existent Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) is small for the number of stations. To solve this problem, we proposed initial contention window control scheme depending on channel utilization and the number of stations that are transmitting a frame to the AP, and the scheme achieved improvement of communication performance in high-density station. However, when stations using conventional CSMA/CA and the scheme connect to the AP at same time, a performance of stations using the scheme decreases. In this paper, we propose the method that improves a performance of stations using the scheme by using a CTS frame.
