A study on improvement for measuring available bandwidth in wireless network

Abstract(in English) In recent years, the demands on measuring mobile network are increasing to provide high quality network services as mobile devices more increase. The available bandwidth is one of the most parameters to determine sending rate in WAN Optimization. Pathload is the application to measure available bandwidth by binary search by large and small comparison of sending and receiving rate by test packets. But Pathload can’t measure available bandwidth in mobile network accurately because of the false detection of binary search with large and small comparison of sending and receiving rate affected by packet losses by fading and so on. So, we improved method calculating correlation coefficient between sending rate and packet loss rate to measure available bandwidth, and evaluate the effectiveness of improving the accuracy in measuring available bandwidth.
