Development of IEEE 802.15.4g Compliant Software Receiver for Multi-vender Wireless Smart Utility Networks

Abstract(in English) The authors have proposed signal processing schemes for IEEE 802.15.4g based wireless smart utility network (Wi-SUN) systems, e.g. a carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation scheme, a symbol synchronization scheme, and a frame synchronization scheme.In this report, the authors develop an IEEE 802.15.4g compliant software receiver using these proposed signal processing schemes and evaluate the packet error rate (PER) performance by offline experiments.The results show that the proposed receiver can communicate with Wi-SUN modules which have Wi-SUN alliance certification. The required signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) which meets PER of 10% are 19.5,dB and 18.5,dB, respectively, when these two Wi-SUN modules send packets in mobile and multipath propagation environments.The required SNR are mostly equivalent to computer simulation results, therefore it shows that the proposed receiver can receive efficiently IEEE 802.15.4g physical (PHY) layer packets even in mobile, multipath propagation, and wider area communication environments.
