A Study of High Functional Node Path Configuration by Using Novel Link Cost Considering FEC

Abstract(in English) In the real-time applications, redundant transmission with FEC is widely applied for reducing transmission time. We add advanced packet processing function to general nodes. This high functional node reduces transmission time before packet decoding, by early packet recovery between high functional nodes. In this study, we assume that FEC is operated in the application layer. We then propose a redundant transmission method using a network composed of high functional nodes. We also propose a novel link cost for applying to the proposed method. The result of computer simulation shows that the proposed method reduces transmission time and the sub-optimal paths are configured by applying the proposed link cost to the shortest path algorithm.
