Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In LTE-advanced (LTE-A), which is standardized by 3rd Generation partnership Project (3GPP), the reduction of the communication latency is studied. Particularly, most of the important challenges is the latency reduction of the uplink wireless access in order to increase of the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) throughput, which is the main protocol in the packet communications systems and cellar systems as well. A study item called Latency Reduction (LATRED) has been established to enhance the uplink wireless access scheme, which is considered as the key factor of the latency, is studied. The proposals include the reduction of the subframe length and the improvement of the uplink access scheme in terms of the uplink grant allocation. The approach of these ideas are based on the consideration that the latency reduction is achieved by means of speeding up the Layer 1 and Layer 2. However, in the LATRED, it is not well studied the TCP behavior in the LTE-A systems. Therefore, it is possible to further increase the TCP throughput by clarifying the causes of the delay considering the TCP behavior and take the measures. In this technical report, we study the methods to improve the TCP throughput considering the TCP behavior in the LTE-A systems.
