[Poster Presentation] Evaluation on Variable Radiation Characteristics with Flexible Parametric Loudspeaker

Abstract(in English) A parametric loudspeaker has sharper radiation characteristics, and it can form a spatial narrow audible area which a particular listener can obtain the target sound. However, it is difficult for the single parametric loudspeaker to reshape the audible area which should cover multiple listeners. Therefore, the huge system with many parametric loudspeakers is required. In this paper, we propose a new method for variable radiation characteristics with a flexible parametric loudspeaker. The flexible parametric loudspeaker can flexibly transform the arrangement of ultrasonic transducers from the plane surface to the concave surface. It can form variable radiation characteristics by changing its curvature. Therefore, the proposed method can reshape the audible area which should cover multiple listeners with the single parametric loudspeaker. As a result of the evaluation experiment, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
