Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the rapid increase of the amount of mobile traffic, millimeter-wave wireless local area network (WLAN), such as IEEE 802.11ad systems, have attracted more attention because of its potential for multi-Gbps communication. Since, millimeter-wave WLAN have small coverage area compared with micrometer-wave WLAN, mobile users with devices stay only for few seconds within the coverage area. Considering the fact that millimeter-wave WLAN is expected to be used for large data transmissions, efficient use of radio resources which achieve large data transmission in a short time is necessary. However, when we employ equal radio resources allocation schemes such as distributed coordination function (DCF) manner, users suffer shortage or excess of radio resources as velocities and trajectories of each user, and the amount of radio resources demanded per second by each user varies drastically. In this paper, we propose access point allocation scheme based on user trajectory prediction to enhance the system traffic capacity of millimeter wave by utilizing radio resources efficiently.
